Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 is the Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games of 2026, carrying on the organization, promotion and communication of the sporting and cultural events related to the next Winter Games.

The Milano Cortina 2026 Organizing Committee has been established in 2019 with the purpose of organizing Olympic and Paralympic Games in compliance with the Host City Contract signed jointly by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the two cities of Milano and Cortina and the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI).

Furthermore, the Italian Paralympic Committee, the Regions of Lombardy and Veneto, as well as the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano/Bozen are all partners in this major national-level project, with the support of the Italian Government.

Position

Event Services is the Functional Area, within the Organizing Committee for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics and Paralympics Games, that is in charge to plan, design and provide a safe and welcoming visit to all ticketed spectators at the official competition venues. in addition to that, EVS provides other services to accredited stakeholders.

The Event Services Senior Ceremonies Manager will be the Team Member mostly focused on the Event Services operations at the opening and closing ceremonies venues for both Olympics and Paralympics. He/She will be in charge of ensuring the necessary consistency in the planning of the EVS operations across all official ceremony sites.

This role works in close collaboration with the EVS Operations Department, both with the Competition and the Non-Competition Clusters, because of the many interdependencies and, mostly, to make sure to use the same operational parameters and to guarantee the same level of service to all Stakeholders.


The Event Services Senior Ceremonies manager will:

  • Work closely with other Departments within the Organizing Committee to design the operational plans for all 3 different Ceremony sites spread across different territories. In addition to that, these plans will have to be fully integrated and aligned with what required by local regulations and/or external entities or partners such as local authorities, local event delivery entities, etc.
  • Support with the creation of guidelines, policies and procedures related to the Event Services functional area, especially for everything related with the EVS Ceremonies Operations.
  • Negotiate and discuss with the Event Management Team and the Ceremonies Team, the EVS presence and support, not only in terms of spectators’ management, but also with Athletes Parade and Participation Kit distribution. Or any other form of collaboration needed or that should arise based on the nature of the Ceremonies.
  • Continuously monitor the Ceremonies Team’s consistency and quality of planning.
  • Build solid and collaborative relationships with other Functional Areas in charge to plan and deliver the Ceremonies for the Organizing Committee.
  • Provide regular updates and, where needed, escalate operational risks and issues to the Head of Event Services.
  • Oversee scoping for the right type and quantities of resources needed to implement the operational plan.
  • Take ownership of Master Schedule tasks related to the Ceremonies plan and monitor their status of accomplishment.
  • Facilitate and organize regular Event Services update meetings both within the EVS Ceremonies Team and within the larger EVS Group.
  • Work in close collaboration with the Event Services Workforce Manager to establish the most suitable and efficient staffing allocation plan based on the available resources.
  • Support both the EVS Operations and EVS Staffing/Training Teams as needed.
  • Help and contribute with the creation of the EVS Policies & Procedures.
  • Represent effectively and respectably EVS at meetings as required.
  • Support Head of Event Services as needed.
  • Other assignments as required during both the planning and the operational phase.


Requirements

  • Knowledge and Experience of Olympic Games Event Services ceremonies operations and goals is essential;
  • Operations Management experience in large-scale events, productions or venues;
  • Proven ability to effectively and efficiently work with a high number of stakeholders and reconcile different needs;
  • Project management skills;
  • Ability to work in a very fast paced environment with numerous and tight deadlines;
  • Understanding of the wide range of implications that planning assumptions can have on the whole project;
  • Ability to keep a clear line of communication within the Event Services Team and with all other Functional Areas and Stakeholders;
  • Ability to identify priorities and work towards their accomplishment;
  • Highly detail oriented;
  • Ability to understand the overall operational impact of EVS (and others’) decisions;
  • Ability to maintain grace under pressure;
  • Negotiation and diplomacy skills.
