Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 is the Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games of 2026, carrying on the organization, promotion and communication of the sporting and cultural events related to the next Winter Games.

Milano Cortina 2026 will be the first large-scale Olympics in history: 9 Olympic venues, 21 provincial capitals, 2,300 municipalities directly involved, over an area of 22,000 square km.

The Milano Cortina 2026 Organizing Committee has been established in 2019 with the purpose of organizing Olympic and Paralympic Games in compliance with the Host City Contract signed jointly by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the two cities of Milano and Cortina and the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI).

Furthermore, the Italian Paralympic Committee, the Regions of Lombardy and Veneto, as well as the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano/Bozen are all partners in this major national-level project, with the support of the Italian Government.

Position

The appointed person will be responsible for creating all the necessary graphic materials for the design and operational implementation of the Olympic transportation plan.

This role will primarily involve managing relationships with members of the transportation team, but there may be a need for occasional interactions with designers from other functions, especially in VDO (Venue Design & Overlay);

This role will mainly involve liaising with members of the transportation team, but there may also be a requirement for discussions with technicians from Local Public Authorities regarding the design of certain publicly owned sites (stations, etc.).


The person will be responsible for:


  • Utilizing Adobe Illustrator to create concept diagrams for the Olympic transportation plan, representative diagrams of the planned transportation services for stakeholders and spectators, and organization diagrams for competition and non-competition venue sites, etc.

  • Using the ArcGIS system to produce maps of various clusters, geolocate the operational areas of the Olympic transportation system, and official Games accommodations to optimize transportation services for stakeholders;

  • Employing AutoCAD software to design technical drawings for all Games transportation hubs, including parking areas, loading/unloading zones at venues, remote interchange parking lots, railway stations, depots, etc;

  • Design transportation hubs in terms of parking areas, loading/unloading zones, pedestrian flows, etc., utilizing urban mobility planning criteria.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Graphic Design;
  • 3 to 5 years of work experience;
  • English proficiency at the B2 level;
  • Excellent knowledge of Illustrator and AutoCAD software;
  • Good familiarity with the ArcGIS system;
  • Capability to work urgently and under pressure to adapt schemes and technical drawings;
  • Strong organizational skills and autonomy in carrying out assigned tasks;
  • Previous experience in planning transportation operations for internationally significant sporting events is highly desirable or prior experience in designing transportation systems within the context of local public transportation.
